Sami Grisafe
Sami Grisafe (rhymes with coffee) was born and raised in Redlands, CA, to musician parents Greg & Kim Grisafe. She has one younger brother, Kyle. Sami grew up watching her parents and Aunt Angie perform all over southern California, but music eluded her until later in life. For the majority of her young adulthood Sami focused on the life of an athlete, playing baseball for 9 years (1st girl in Redlands, CA, to make a boy’s baseball All-Star team) and football for 6 years (1st woman in California to play QB in Varsity Division I football game).
In high school Sami fell in love with theatre and earned a scholarship to the Chicago College of Performing Arts @ Roosevelt University. It was there where she received her BFA in Acting and met one of her strongest musical influences, her friend and roommate Linsea Waugh. After college, the football bug bit Sami again, leading her straight to a spot on the women’s professional football team the Chicago Force. Sami currently plays QB for The Force and recently returned from Stockholm, Sweden, where she, along with 44 of the best female football-ers in the US, played for a gold medal in the first Women’s International Football Competition – they won.
Sami’s current musical obsession: the ukelele. Where you can currently find some of Sami’s sexy, saucy, verging-on-naughty music (besides in the upcoming I HATE TOMMY FINCH): here. And if you have a chance to see her perform live with or without her band THE WICK…um, do it.
